June brings forth the start to our education events with showmanship, fitting,
and meat goat judging seminars. Oakland County Fairgrounds, in Davisburg, will
be the setting for this occasion. Start your day off with a wether show hosted
by our member Mrs. Molly Angel. Then relax and enjoy the experts at any or all
of the MBGA's seminars.
August follows
up the show season with the Michigan State Fair, with a wether show the first
week and a Labor Day weekend filled with Boer goat showing. The State Fair is
always a wonderful family experience, that can't be missed.
September and
November will usher in our Fall Roast and Bred Doe Sales. This year's Roast
will be hosted at the farm of Steve and Diane Hunt of Leroy, Michigan. The
Hunts plan to offer a buck collection, A.I. class, and a pasture management
seminar. Finally, elections will be held at the roast for new directors. Don't
miss a wonderful time to interact with your fellow MBGA, Inc. members. The Bred
doe sale takes place at the MSU Pavilion this year. We will end the year
on a high note with the first ever raffling of an MBGA, Inc Boer doe kid.
Please try and
plan to attend at least one of these spectacular events this year! The MBGA,
Inc. has stuffed this year full of family fun occasions. We look forward to
seeing all of you at this year's events. If you have any question or
comments or would like to join a committee please, feel free to contact me.
Yours truly,
